Preamble:
The All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) is a registered Society and has been functioning for more than 75 years now. It takes care of the continuing medical education programmes to its members, provides an opportunity for exchange of thoughts and experience through various meets and conferences. It is an Indian organization, which brings all the allopathic Eye Specialists together from all parts of the Country. On the request of the members of the Society ( Dr. C. Sriramamurthy and Dr. B. Vijaya Babu ) the Society has approved a Resolution to implement a "Family Benefit Scheme" at the AIOS G.B Meeting held in Ahmedabad in the year 2002 under the President- ship of Dr. J. K. Pasricha to provide financial help to the families of the members in case of the demise of a member. The President AIOS Dr.D.K.Sen has appointed a ad hoc committee for implementation of the scheme with the Head office at Guntur and Dr. C. Sriramamurthy as convener and Dr. V. Sambasivarao as the co – convener and Dr. Rajvardhan Azad as its Chairman .Only the Life Members of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS) will be eligible to become members of the Society. With the provision that this ad hoc Committee will cease to function as soon as the Managing Committee of the Society is constituted among the members who join the Family Benefit Scheme. The Society"s first Managing Committee was elected unanimously by the General Body under the Chairmanship of Dr. Madan Mohan on 4th February, 2006 at Bhopal. The second Managing Committee was elected unanimously with Dr. Rajvardhan Azad as Chairman on 23- Jan 2010 at the Genearl Body meeting held at Calcutta.

Aims & Objectives
- To provide immediate and substantial Financial aid to the family of the members of the Society on his / her demise
- To look after the welfare of the families of members of the Society.
- To promote close camaraderie amongst the members of the Society.
- To promote social contact and creation of goodwill among the members.
- To promote health education for prevention of blindness.
- To support community eye care services.
- To support and promote continuing medical education programmes.
- To conduct and support Ophthalmic Research and Services including Eye Banks.
- To award fellowship, Oration awards and prizes.
- To raise funds by donations, investments, interest and collections from members.
- To disburse funds according to the Bye-Laws.
